December 5, 2010 will be the 83rd birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. And at the same time, Thailand is also celebrating Father's Day.He was born on Monday the 5th of December 1927, at Mount Auburn Hospital, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., being the third and youngest child of Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Mahidol of Songkla.
In 1946, he is proclaimed the ninth King of Thailand and is now the longest reigning monarch in the world.
He married Queen Sirikit on April 28, 1950 and blessed with four children:
Her Royal Highness Princess Ubol Ratana
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn
It is a national holiday in Thailand during December 5 Thai people are also celebrating Father's Day. And mostly people are wearing yellow to pay respect to the king as it is the color symbol of his birthday.
